CHRISTMAS PRAYER

I wanted to say oh thank you, Lord,
For all the friends I have. . .
And those I’ve met out on the internet.
Those on the internet I haven’t met
Up close and face to face. . .
Still, they’re among the best friends I’ve met.

They have stood beside me there
With a kind word or a poem. . .
Everytime I’ve needed one or the other.
They’ve become special to me,
And they’re all as good a friends
As I have in any other.

So if I don’t have another thing,
If my Christmas tree has no gifts,
And its branches are strikingly bare,
Remember, Lord, all I need is. . .
The continued love of all my friends
Who constantly let me know they care.

And then how great my Christmas will be.
It may not come in pretty bows,
The love they share with me. . .
Or in packages wrapped with care,
But I’ll be rich and richly blessed. . .
With the love they share with me.

So Lord, bless each one of them,
The ones I know and grew up with,
And those on the internet. . .
And may you give to each of them,
The love they so richly deserve. . .
And Lord, make theirs the best Christmas yet.
